Leading expert on JFK assassination dies at 68

The leading expert on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy died Wednesday morning.

Gary Mack was the longtime curator of The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. He helped turn the museum into a nationally recognized historical archive of the JFK assassination.

Mack joined the museum in 1994 and became a respected authority on the events surrounding the assassination and its impact on the city of Dallas.

Mack was 68 years old and had been battling a rare and aggressive form of cancer.

He is survived by his wife, son and two grandchildren.
