Komen Dallas race kicks off Saturday morning

The streets around NorthPark Center in Dallas will be a sea of pink Saturday for the annual Komen Dallas Race for the Cure.

People like Rev. Michael Enette Sr. will join thousands of other survivors and supporters to raise money and awareness for the fight against breast cancer.

Ennette is a survivor of 12 years. Now he’s now known as the man in pink because he likes to wear a pink suit and even has a pink cellphone case.

“Everyone wants to know are, ‘Are you for real? Did you really have breast cancer?’ I tell them yes. You know, it’s a man thing and men definitely don’t believe that they can get breast cancer,” he said. “Men, I’m telling you that breast cancer can come your way.”

FOX 4 is a proud sponsor of the 34th annual race and special coverage starts at 7 a.m. The competitive race starts at 7:45 a.m. and the 5K kicks off at 8 a.m., followed by the survivors’ celebration walk.

Viewers are encouraged to share pictures throughout the day on social media using the hashtag #DallasRace.
