Judge again denies bond for Tonya Couch

The mother of the so-called affluenza teen will stay in jail until her trial.

A Tarrant County judge on Monday denied Tonya Couch’s bond again.

She is the mother of Ethan Couch, who was convicted in a 2013 drunken driving crash that killed four people. He was 16 years old at the time.

His case garnered national attention when his defense attorney successfully argued that he suffered from “affluenza” did not know that his actions were wrong. He was sentenced to just probation.

Ethan’s bond was revoked and he spent two years in jail after he and his mother fled to Mexico.

Tonya Couch is now facing charges for money laundering and hindering the apprehension of a felon.

Her bond was revoked in June after she tested positive for meth.
