Hotel evacuated as police search for gunman

IRVING, Texas - Police in Irving are investigating a shooting at an extended stay hotel.

The shooting happened around 3 a.m. Wednesday at the Crossland Economy Studios on Walnut Hill Lane.

Multiple people reported hearing gunshots and screams. A witness said he saw two men fighting and that one man shot the other.

Officers found the victim hiding under a car with a gunshot wound to his leg. He reportedly would not cooperate with police.

SWAT officers cleared the area and surrounded the room where they believed the gunman was hiding. But, no one was inside.

Police did take one man into custody for questioning. They said it isn’t yet clear if he was the gunman or just a witness.

Two gunman and the victim likely knew each other, police said.
