Hometown Heroes: Helping Hands

Grace Presbyterian Village is home to almost 300 senior citizens. For eight years, about a dozen of them have gathered once a week to sew and socialize.

Helping Hands consists of a group of ladies who create handmade crafts that are made with love and displayed with pride throughout the residential home.

The ladies make things that reflect the holidays: Valentine's door wreaths, shamrock lapel pins, door wreaths for St. Patrick's Day and the 4th of July, tabletop Christmas trees and lots more.

They love being of use and making the residents happy.

Because Helping Hands is so busy, they could use help with donations. If you can donate thread, ribbon, sewing material or yarn, call Grace Presbyterian Village at 214-376-1701.
