Hometown Hero: Ryan Anthony

Ryan Anthony is one of the leading trumpet players in the world. He's played all over the world and is the principle trumpet player for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.

Two years ago, Anthony, a husband and father of two, was diagnosed with blood cancer, a rare form of multiple myeloma. There is no cure.

Anthony has undergone countless treatments and even a stem cell transplant. He is in remission and undergoes maintenance chemotherapy.

He's feeling great and created a fundraiser to help others.

On Wednesday, March 4, the top trumpet players in jazz, pop and classical music will take the stage at the Meyerson Symphony Center for "Cancer Blows."

Legendary artists like Doc Severinsen, 10-time Grammy-winner Auturo Sandoval, founding member of Chicago, Lee Loughnane and 22 other amazing trumpet players will donate their time and talent to raise money to fight multiple myeloma.
