High schooler killed when car hits tree in Cleburne

A teenager was killed in a crash in Johnson County on Friday afternoon.

The 17-year-old was one of five boys in a car when it went off the road and hit a tree in Cleburne around 1 p.m. Friday.

The teen killed was thrown from the car and taken by Careflight to a Fort Worth hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Another teen was taken by Careflight and the others were taken by ground to local hospitals. Details on the conditions of the other teens in the car have not yet been released. Three of the four boys are 17-years-old and one is 14-years-old.

The boys were all from a charter school in Reno, near Glen Rose.
