Heat likely to blame for more water main breaks

MESQUITE, Texas - Excessive heat may be behind several water main breaks this week.

Around 3 a.m. Friday water started flowing from a main in north Mesquite, near North Galloway Avenue and Highway 80.

Crews shut the water off to start on repairs.

Crews are also working to repair other breaks in southwest Arlington.

Six breaks were reported Thursday in the area near Pleasant Ridge Road and Green Oaks Boulevard. Two will take several days to repair.

About a dozen homes could be without water during that time.
