Haslet school cancels clown fire safety program due to evil clown threats

A fire safety program featuring clowns from Haslet Fire Rescue was canceled due to a recent rash of “evil clown” stories in the news.

Haslet Fire Rescue posted on Facebook that it was scheduled to be at Haslet Elementary all day on Friday, but that Northwest ISD “has banned all depictions of clowns on every NWISD campus.”

The fire department followed up with another post saying it supported the district’s decision to postpone the event. It said the foundation of their fire safety program is “clown-based.”

“If and when the evil clown fad fades away we will be back to the school to teach the kids of Haslet,” the department said.

Multiple students in North Texas could face charges for fake clown threats made against area schools.
