GRAPEVINE, Texas - The ‘Christmas Capital of Texas’ kicked off the holiday season in grand fashion.
Hundreds gathered in historic Downtown Grapevine Monday night and took advantage of the clear, chilly evening. The ‘Carol of Lights’ featured millions of lights, live Christmas music and dozens of fireworks.
The Christmas Capital title was given to Grapevine by the Texas Senate seven years ago. Even Donner and Blitzen happily posed for pictures.
The event was one of the highlights of the year for Martika Martin and her two daughters, who just moved here from Ohio.
“I really enjoy it. Beginning to the season to me,” Martin said.
And those who enjoyed the event are well aware of the date. They said it’s never too early for Christmas.
