Grapevine apartments damaged in three-alarm fire

A fire at a Grapevine apartment complex late Wednesday morning has displaced 30 people.

The three-alarm fire at Ridge Crest Apartments in the 2800 block of Mustang Drive broke out just before 11:30 a.m. No one was injured in the blaze. The damage was contained to one building, but the fire destroyed 20 units.

The Grapevine Fire Department is still investigating the cause of the fire. The fire spread in the attic space, allowing it to reach multiple units.

The Red Cross will conduct a damage assessment to determine how many residents need help. For those who need help, the Red Cross will provide a place to stay and means to buy new clothing and food.

DFW Airport, Haltom City, Bedford, Coppell, Euless and Southlake fire departments all assisted in the response to the fire.
