Furry friends help Mansfield students learn to read aloud

Some students in the Mansfield school district are getting reading help from new four-legged friends.

The kids at Glenn Harmon Elementary School are learning to read aloud. But sometimes they can be a little shy.

Therapy dogs with the program Reading Rover are helping them practice. The dogs may not understand the plot but they love the attention and people time.

“I love reading to the dogs because it’s fun and also I never had a dog. And it’s just fun to read to the dog,” said Sadel Bayyound, a third grader at the school.

Mansfield ISD said so far the program seems to be a success.
