Friends of missing FW newlyweds remain hopeful

Friends of a missing Fort Worth couple are holding onto hope that they will be found.

Forrest and Donna Sanco went missing September 26 on their way to the Bahamas in a private plane for their honeymoon.

"Apparently a wheel and tire were found in the general area, in the water, found, recovered by a fisherman. But there's still some questions as to whether it was from his actual plane," said Jason Fox, Forrest Sanco's friend.

The Sancos took off from Fort Worth in their own Cessna 150.

The couple landed to refuel in North Eleuthera, Bahamas and were headed to Rum Cay, but never made it.

The search has had to overcome some government legal hurdles, but the families of the couple are raising money with a Gofundme account to pay for their own search.

"Initially it was really hard to get any type of assistance from the Bahamian government, from even the US, the Coast Guard. It was very limited resources," said Fox. "With the recent media buzz I think that did spark some interest with the governments and they did do some searching in the past few days."

Friends say the search, optimism and prayers continue for Forrest and Donna Sanco.

"It's very challenging. Everybody is trying to keep hope alive. Things like finding that raft that turned out to not be anything makes it harder sometimes because you don't know what's happening," said Fox.
