Hometown Heroes: Coach Pam Fowler

Coach Pam Fowler always looks at a child's ability. She's a special needs athletic coach and expects nothing less than their best.  She tells them "do your best and have fun."

Coach Pam is retiring after 30 years of coaching.  Her parents live in Austin and are elderly and need more help.  This is her last year coaching the more than 2,500 special needs students in Grand Prairie ISD.

Coach Pam has a special place in the hearts of her students and their parents.  One mother sent me an email to nominate Coach Pam as the community's Hometown Hero.

Rhonda Brown-Crowder is grateful for the confidence her 8 year old son son, Caleb, who has Autism, has gained. Brown-Crowder says what Caleb has gotten is what all of the students get, the ability to see no limits and the chance to have fun.
