Firefighters put out apartment fire in North Oak Cliff

Nearly 100 firefighters were called out to the scene of an apartment fire in North Oak Cliff Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters remained on the scene through the night to extinguish some hot spots.

The fire started at an apartment complex on North Ewing Avenue just outside of Downtown Dallas. People living nearby called 911 just before 7 p.m. Three buildings were damaged. One building contained about five apartment units. Another one was vacant.

It hasn't been determined whether a third building that collapsed had anyone inside. People in nearby apartments saw the smoke and rushed outside for safety.

Everyone affected by the fire is safe. No injuries were reported.

Red Cross is on the scene to help out anyone who needs it.
