A fire broke out on a floor of Children’s Medical Center in Dallas Thursday afternoon.

The fire was on the fourth floor of the Tower D, which is located in 1900 block of Medical District Drive. No injuries were reported.

A Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman said the fire was contained to the fourth floor. The building was evacuated, with some people extracted by helicopter.

"At first we thought somebody hooked up a phone charger and it burnt into like a plug," said Frederick Faulk, who was watching a movie with his daughter on a lower floor. "That's basically kind of like the smell we was smelling."

Firefighters and hospital personnel spent several hours clearing smoke out of the building and taking care of evacuated patients to help them avoid heat exhaustion.

Sky4 showed a heavy response from firefighters and ambulances on the street by the hospital.
