Family of road rage shooting victim hopes tips will yield arrest

The family of a man who was injured in a road rage shooting hopes someone has a clue that will lead police to a suspect.

The shooting happened just after 6 p.m. on Friday near the Loop 820 and Hwy. 287 split.

Fort Worth police have said the shots came from a white SUV.

The driver of a pickup truck was injured. The driver's family will only identify him to FOX 4 as a man named Gary.

Plans to join the military may be over because of Gary's injuries.

"He was hit twice," said family friend Amanda Gordon. "Once in the shoulder, once in the lower back. It hit his liver, punctured his lung. The bullet is now lodged in his back in his spine."

Gary is engaged to Gordon's sister, who was following him in another car.

The family says they don't know what may have provoked the shooting.
