Exxxotica legal battle in Dallas heats up

The legal battle between the city of Dallas and the organizers of the Exxotica expo is heating up.

Exxxotica is suing the city of Dallas, claiming that banning their event from the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center is unconstitutional and violates their First Amendment rights.

But Dallas has filed court documents defending the ban. It claims event organizers misrepresented the amount of nudity and sexually-oriented activity at last year’s expo.

Exxxotic fired back with a filing Tuesday arguing the city knew all the details about the event.

Organizers said there were multiple discussions about the “no live nudity” requirement and the city agreed to let people wear things like like pasties and G strings. They also said the city hasn’t cited any specific examples of the alleged sexually-oriented activity.

Now it will be up to a judge. A hearing is scheduled for April 18.
