Some residents in the Mid-Cities are taking extra precautions after a string of armed robberies in their neighborhoods.

There were three robberies Tuesday night at some Euless apartment complexes. Police say the same gunmen held up residents all within blocks of each other and within minutes of each other.

Euless police say this entire crime spree lasted just 15 minutes. One of the victims told police she was reluctant to come forward since the robbers told her "we know where you live."

Detectives say there’s a chance the armed robberies in Euless could be related to similar cases in Bedford and Hurst.

According to Euless PD, the violent crime wave started around 10:15 Tuesday night. Two robbers wearing ski masks approached a person sitting inside a parked car at Overlook Apartment Homes located off Ash Lane. The crooks reportedly demanded money at gunpoint. They got away with jewelry, a cell phone and credit cards.

Police say within eight minutes of the first armed robbery, they got a call about a second one that happened at Colonial Grand Apartments off Fuller Wise road. The victim was walking to his apartment when the robbers stole his wallet at gunpoint.

Earl Swain lives nearby.

“People need to be on their guard and alert and look for suspicious people,” he said. “I’m sorry that that happened. That’s scary.

Within minutes, Euless police officers responded to a third 911 call at Sandstone Apartments at Bear Creek. The robbers matched the description from previous hold-ups. This time, police say they got away with nothing.

Really anywhere you go you reach a certain amount of population density, people are going to try and find the opportunity to make money without working,” said resident Claudia Ruiz.

According to the victims, the robbers took off on foot. Because the robberies may be tied to others in neighboring communities, there's no telling if they live in the area.
