Egg shortage impacts N. TX businesses

Stores and businesses that rely on eggs for their customers or products are feeling the effects of the recent egg shortage.

Egg prices have doubled due to a recent bird flu outbreak.

The outbreak resulted in the euthanasia of more than 40 million egg-producing birds.

Places like Paris Bakery in Arlington say they use eggs in almost everything they make.

Whataburger is cutting back breakfast hours, and many grocery stores are limiting egg purchases to customers.

Through it all, Kroger says it's feeling optimistic.

No matter the strategy, the hope is that the shortage is short lived.
