EF-1 Tornadoes hit Irving, Farmers Branch overnight

The National Weather Service confirms two EF-1 tornadoes hit North Texas early Sunday morning.

NWS Officials say an EF-1 tornado touched down in Farmers Branch. It had peak winds up to 105 mph. 5.1 mile path length and 200 yard width.

Also, at approximately the same time (2:30 a.m.) an EF-1 tornado touched down in Irving. It had peak winds up to 110 mph. 1.1 mile path length and 300 yard width. NWS officials say this tornado was unusual in that it traveled southeast to northwest and was less than 200 yards wide.

Both tornadoes left behind some destruction, but no injuries were reported.

Sunday will likely be a calmer day with scattered thunderstorms and another round of severe weather expected Monday afternoon.
