Early voting in Texas begins Monday

Early voting in Texas starts this week. It runs through Nov. 3.

Some cities have bond issues for residents to consider. In Dallas, that includes more than $1 billion to pay for streets, public safety facilities and Fair Park improvements.

There are contested mayoral elections in White Settlement and Anna, as well as city council races in nine cities and charter amendment elections.

Texas voters are being asked to consider seven amendments to the state constitution.

Proposition 6 would allow tax breaks for the spouses of first responders killed in the line of duty. It was inspired largely by the officers who were shot and killed on July 7, 2016 in Downtown Dallas.

Election Day is Nov. 7.
