Driver dies in firey crash in Dallas Saturday morning

One person died in a fiery crash Saturday morning, south of downtown Dallas.

Around 1:30 a.m., a man called 9-1-1 after he saw an SUV lose control and slam into a bridge pillar.

It happened on Corinth Street, between Lamar Street and Riverfront Boulevard.

The witness told police the vehicle was speeding but police are still investigating that claim.

Police could not identify the driver at the scene because of the extensive damage from the crash and fire.
