Driver dies after falling off I-20 bridge in Fort Worth

The driver of a truck fell from a bridge to his death Thursday night, according to Fort Worth police.

Police said the man lost control of his truck on Interstate 20. He spun out and ended up crashing into a concrete barrier on the bridge over Aledo Road.

Then he got out of his truck, slipped and fell about 60 feet onto some railroad tracks below.

At the time, officers were working a multi-vehicle accident in the westbound lanes of the interstate. They saw the man fall and tried to save him, but could not.

Family members identified him as 51-year-old Ricky Katcher.

They are not sure why he was out on the icy roads because they said Thursday was his day off from work.
