Defense attorneys criticize Waco biker shooting prosecutors

About 30 defense attorneys came together in Waco on Thursday to call out prosecutors for the way they’ve handled the Twin Peaks biker shootout investigation.

The lawyers represent some of the 177 bikers arrested after the shooting in May. Since then, 106 of the bikers have been indicted. Most of the bikers face charges of engaging in organized criminal activity.

The attorneys said the shootout aftermath has included a shoddy investigation by officials, arrests without cause and litigation mishandling.

Nine people were killed and 18 injured in the barrage of shots fired between the bikers and police.
