Dallas residents urged to fight illegal dumping

Dallas city officials are urging residents to help fight the growing problem of illegal dumping.

In a news conference on Tuesday, representatives from the Marshal's Office, Dallas Animal Services and Dallas Police stressed the need for more citizen involvement.

The city has placed an additional 50 cameras around the city to catch offenders.

Twenty arrests have been made since April, and a lot of the dumping involves dead dogs and cats.

The city has also collected about 20,000 tires this year.
