Dallas police investigating deadly downtown crash

Dallas police are investigating a crash that killed a man and seriously injured another.

It happened at 400 Elm Street, just south of downtown Dallas around 3:00 a.m.  

Police said the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control of the vehicle.

Police said the driver struck a curb, then a bridge support for the train tracks above.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Dallas police.

Police said the passenger was ejected from the vehicle and transported to Parkland with multiple head lacerations.
