Dallas PD officer, teenager injured in hit and run

A young woman is in custody after a Dallas police officer and a teenager were injured in a hit and run on Monday afternoon.

Dallas police said they believe the driver of the vehicle, Alexis Smith, intentionally wanted to strike the DPD officer.

Police were called at 1:40 p.m. on Monday to disturbance involving multiple teens in the road in the 200 block of Stoneport Drive. The officer tried to detain one of the young men while the other suspects got into a vehicle and hit the teen and officer.

Officials said the officer was taken to Baylor Medical Center and the teen was taken to Parkland Hospital. Both suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Smith has been charged with assault of a public servant and aggravated assault.
