Dallas holds prayer vigil for Vegas victims

People gathered in Thanksgiving Square in Downtown Dallas Monday night to hold a vigil for those harmed in Las Vegas.

There was a moment of silence for the victims and then religious leaders called for unity in the face of tragedy.

“While we may not live in Las Vegas, we didn’t live in Charleston either or Charlottesville or Orlando. But whatever we are we have that opportunity to be attentive to that voice which whispers peace not only to ourselves but everyone we come in contact with,” said Gregg Allen with the Oak Lawn United Methodist Church.

Faith Forward Dallas, which is a coalition of faith leaders, hosted the event along with gun reform and anti-violence groups.
