The Dallas County Health and Human Services department is offering free flu shots for Dallas County residents who are uninsured or have low income.
Dallas County reported 19 flu related deaths in 2014.
Health director Zach Thompson said the vaccine is your best defense against getting the flu.
“It's important for residents to be coming in now, it’s free, we have plenty of vaccine, there’s no shortage so now is the time,” Thompson said. “We don’t have a crystal ball to know how the flu season may run, but we do know that we're going to have flu cases in Dallas County."
The adult shots are available at the main Health and Human Services building on Stemmons Freeway. Children's vaccine is available at all Dallas County Health and Human Services clinics.
No appointments are needed.
