A charity is back in business after a fire destroyed its offices.

The fire in December burned Quest for Greater Success’s building inside an apartment complex in Pleasant Grove. It also destroyed Christmas toys that were going to be given to children.

The community rallied and donated more than enough to replace the lost toys.

“When it had hit that we had a fire then the community was like, ‘Wow! You do all of this here?’ And I’m like, ‘Yea, we’ve been doing this out here.’ And it was able to bring awareness to our program and allow us to expand,” said Assata Thomas, the charity’s founder.

Quest is now open in a much larger space. The new offices have new computers to help adults and young people prepare to find jobs.

The charity also helps with mentoring, job training and more.
