Dallas car wash owner shot to death

Dallas police are releasing very little information about the murder of a 66-year-old man outside his business Thursday evening.

Family members of Donald Graham were too stunned to talk to FOX 4 on Friday, but witnesses to the shooting that took his life and friends who knew Graham opened up about what happened and who he was.

Two simple bouquets outside the Sparkle Car Wash on Camp Wisdom Road are the only signs of what happened Thursday night.

“A dude just rolled by and it was just two shots, and he hit him right there,” said witness Thomas Gray.

The vehicle shots were fired from was a burgundy or maroon two-door Explorer Sport SUV.

Police flooded the area looking for clues or possible video from surveillance cameras outside local businesses.

Chris Collins ate breakfast frequently with Graham after he finished his route as a driver for Dallas County Schools Transportation.

“He just loved conversating with people,” said Collins. “Loved talking about sports. He just loved people.”

“Do you know anybody that he would have this kind of beef with?” said FOX 4’s Shaun Rabb.

“We were racking our brains last night trying to figure that out,” said Collins. “I can’t think of anyone that would actually dislike him or his brother.”

Greg Hershel, who plans to redevelop part of Camp Wisdom, came to see where the well-known Graham died.

He says the development is needed to change more than the landscape there.

“This whole Camp Wisdom corridor, make it better for the community ‘cause it’s needed, and change the whole mindset of the area, of people in the community,” said Hershel.

At 6 p.m. Friday, the plan is for the community to come together in prayer at the place where Graham lost his life.

“We all need to engage every time something like this happens, just so there’s an awareness, if nothing else, but tonight we're basically concerned about the family of the lost one,” said area resident Jarvis Windham.
