Dallas approves Katy Trail Ice House expansion

DALLAS - The Katy Trail Ice House got approval Wednesday to expand its popular bar.

The city of Dallas will abandon a portion of Routh Street to the beer garden for $225,000.

The Ice House also pledged to solve the drainage problem at the entrance to the Katy Trail. That would have cost the city $350,000.

Councilman Philip Kingston opposed the move out of concerns that it will increase noise for nearby residents.

In the end, it passed 9 to 6.
