Crowley teacher among those busted in sex sting

A science teacher for the Crowley Independent School District is one of seven men arrested in an online sex sting.

Jarrad Cook, 29, was placed on administrative leave and then resigned from his position at North Crowley High School on Wednesday.

Fort Worth police said he used the Whisper app to send explicit photos of himself to an officer who he thought was a 15-year-old girl. He was arrested when he went to meet her.

Cook is now charged with online solicitation of a minor. He worked for Crowley ISD for about a year.

Others who were arrested as part of the sting include 63-year-old Douglas Hammonds, 55-year-old Gary Gibson, 59-year-old Donny Stringer, 26-year-old James Marshall, 20-year-old Zachary Blakley and 32-year-old Geronimo Farias.
