A man was arrested for setting a north Dallas condo complex on fire.
Police said Cisco Iturbe confessed and will face arson charges for setting the fire at the complex in the 5800 block of Harvest Hill Road, near Preston Road and the LBJ Freeway, Sunday morning.
When firefighters arrived, flames were shooting out of several homes on the second floor. Some people reportedly needed to be rescued.
“It wasn’t a little bit here and there. It was a wall of fire,” said Andrew Longyear, an arson investigator.
Investigators said Iturbe lived in one of the units. They believe he used an accelerant to start the fire.
No one was hurt but several neighbors lost their homes.
“He put everybody else’s lives in danger. All I have to say is thank God it’s not across the street where I live. Because you just don’t know if somebody’s gonna walk up and just do it for the hell of it,” said Tina Clark, who lives nearby.
Six people were displaced in the fire. Some are staying with family or friends. Others were given temporary housing provided by the American Red Cross.
