Crash closes I-30 for several hours

Part of a busy Dallas highway was shut down Saturday morning because of a crash involving an 18 wheeler.

The crash happened around 4:00 a.m. in the west bound lanes of I-30, near Jim Miller Road, according to Dallas County Sheriff’s deputies.

A car lost control and clipped the front of the 18 wheeler, which caused the truck driver to lose control, deputies said.

The trailer came apart after rolling onto a bridge support.

The road was closed while TxDOT inspected the bridge and started the cleanup process. Contents from the 18 wheeler were dumped along the roadway for several hundred yards, deputies said.

The driver was not hurt. The truck driver suffered facial trauma, deputies said.

The highway is now back open.
