Off-the-field issues are again taking the spotlight for the Dallas Cowboys. This time the conflict between Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

Fans are reacting to the latest developments on the eve of the Cowboys' game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

“He's gonna fight back, you know Jerry, he's not going to sit around and take anything from anyone. He's gonna fight,” said Joe Flores.

An ESPN reporter revealed the recent conflict between Goodell and Jones began after Jones was notified of Ezekiel Elliott’s six-game suspension. According to the report, Jones threatened Goodell and referenced the “Deflate-gate” scandal saying, “I’m gonna come after you with everything I have.” ”If you think Bob Kraft came after you hard, Bob Kraft is a [expletive] compared to what I'm going to do."

Jones is threatening to sue the league and some team owners over Goodell’s possible contract extension.

“Jerry's the only owner that has any backbone because we have a commissioner who's running the league however he wants and not really taking into context everything that goes into every situation, I think it's great. I don't disagree with Jerry at all,” said Robert Mazey.

The controversy continued into Friday after the website The Blast posted exclusive cell phone video of Jones at the Warwick Hotel in Dallas in 2013. In the video, a man asked Jones to record a greeting for his fiancé. Jones said “Congratulations on the wedding. Now, you know he’s with a black girl tonight don’t you?”

“What we say sometimes doesn't land in the right places with some people, they're too sensitive. He said what he felt, that's it,” said Flores.

Jones later apologized for the remark saying, “That comment was inappropriate. It's not who I am, and I'm sorry."

The Cowboys are set to take on the Eagles Sunday night, and the Chargers just a few days later on Thanksgiving.
