Coppell apartment complex flooded with up to 2 feet of water

Residents of a partially flooded apartment complex in Coppell may not be able to return home for several days.

Over 100 apartments in five buildings at the Wellington Place apartment complex have been evacuated.

54 apartments on the first floor of the complex have seen the most damage, with up to two feet of water inside.

One resident, Audrey Stewart, said her first floor unit is destroyed and that she and her 8-year-old daughter have likely lost everything.

The Coppell Fire Department has been using boats to escort people back to their apartments to pick up any items they may need.

Management at the apartment complex has helped put people up in motel rooms. The complex said that when the water recedes, contractors will head in to assess the damage.

It is not clear how long residents will have to wait before they can move back in.
