Cooling stations open today in DFW area

DALLAS - The Salvation Army is activating 14 cooling stations in North Texas today for those needing to escape the heat.

Most of the centers provide cold water and air conditioning, and are open until 5 p.m. only on weekdays. There are also two emergency homeless shelters that are open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
