Dallas ISD police are warning officers they are being targeted after a shooting in Pleasant Grove.

Two men fired shots at a security guard outside John B Hood Middle School early Wednesday.

The guard, who was hired to keep watch over construction equipment, was not hit.

Chief Craig Miller said the men likely thought the guard was a police officer.

“I think it’s important that as we continue to do our job that the public helps watch out for the officers and the officers are aware of their surroundings,” Miller said. “There is one vehicle for sure out here in North Texas that is targeting police officers and trying to harm them.”

Surveillance video captured grainy images of the men and their car. Police believe it was a black Buick LeSabre.
