Cars in McKinney neighborhood spray-painted by vandals
Some homeowners in a McKinney neighborhood woke up to racist and hateful messages spray-painted on their vehicles.
The vandals hit cars at two different houses on Surrey Lane.
One homeowner says he woke up to a knock on his door at 6:30 a.m. Friday. It was a neighbor there to tell him someone plastered derogatory slurs and a swastika on all sides of his daughter's car.
At a neighbor's suggestion, they used gasoline and a power washer to erase the hateful messages.
Police say it’s unclear if the attack was random or if people on the street were targeted.
