Carrollton police chase ends in crash; 2 taken to hospitals

Two drivers were taken to hospitals Thursday night after a crash in Carrollton. One of the drivers was trying to evade police.

Around 6:30 p.m., Carrollton police said they pulled over 33-year-old Brandon Dale Robinson in a silver car for a traffic violation. He took off when he realized that police suspected the car he was in was stolen.

After a nearly two-minute chase through residential streets, police said Robinson blew through a stop sign going west on Haymeadow and T-boned a black SUV going southbound on North Josey Lane.

The suspect then crashed into a brick wall. He was taken to Parkland Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the SUV was trapped with his SUV on its side, forcing crews to cut the roof off to get him out. He was taken to a hospital by CareFlite, but is expected to be ok.

The SUV driver's wife said her husband was on his way to meet her to celebrate her birthday when the crash happened.
