More than six months after major flooding closed down the Vineyards Campground along Grapevine Lake, the facility is ready to welcome families back just in time for Thanksgiving.
The campground has about 100 campsites and 15 cabins.
The cozy community atmosphere is a favorite with campers.
Earlier this year, it was submerged, along with ballparks, playgrounds and other recreations spots at the lake.
People go to the campgrounds from other parts of the state, but some are from North Texas and they plan to stick it out for the Thanksgiving weekend, even with a cold and rainy forecast.
The Vineyards missed out on the entire summer season. It cost Grapevine about $1 million in revenue.
That matters because the money pays to keep up 700 acres of parks around the lake.
The cleanup and repairs came with improvements. Every campsite has cable TV and the fastest Wi-Fi of any campground in the country.
