Bus driver suspended after dropping students off at Burger King

A Dallas County Schools bus driver was suspended for taking students to Burger King.

Bus 1612 was carrying students from the Cedar Hill school district, south of Dallas. After school let out around noon Thursday, students said the driver took a vote asking where they wanted to stop and eat.

The driver then dropped the students off at the restaurant. At least one student ended up walking several miles to his grandmother’s house.

“This is absolutely unacceptable behavior and violates all our training. The driver was immediately suspended,” DCS said in a statement.

The agency said it has a strict policy about only dropping students off at their designated location.
