Bizarre video shows woman vandalizing public art display with small dog in tow

The vandalism of a public art installation in Dallas was caught on camera Thursday night.

Video of the incident shows a woman punching the piece, then shaking another display a few feet away, all with her dog in tow.

A witness across the street saw what was happening and started recording, even snapping a picture of the woman in her Mercedes with California plates.

“She does a lot of destruction, and then just strolls off with her little dog. It's very strange,” said the artist, Gretchen Goetz.

The piece is called The Four Door Gallery and it's meant to be a miniature room, with art displayed inside.

It sits at the intersection of Sylvan and Fort Worth Avenue, commissioned months ago by a local development group. Each part of it is salvaged material Goetz found.

“Aside from, you know, the pain of it, my next thing is just the curiosity because she doesn't seem like someone who's fighting an interior demon, you know?”

Goetz has filed a police report and plans to repair the piece. She'd like to know who this woman is, but the bigger mystery is why?

“Honestly, I would like to look her straight in the eye and have her explain to me what she did,” said Goetz.
