Arlington wall repainted red, white and blue for Independence Day

Ten volunteers painted a retaining wall in an Arlington residential neighborhood red, white and blue for the 4th of July.

Last Thursday. Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams called for Arlington citizens to perform 400,000 random acts of kindness. Dalworth Restoration responded by repainting a faded patriotic paint job of a retaining wall on Mitchell Street.

The retaining wall usually gets quite a bit of local traffic. People have painted it before but it has faded in most places.

"To see the homeowners face when he realized we wanted to come out and do this for him, just being kind and doing it, there's nothing like it. It means a whole lot," Amanda Flores of Dalwrorth Restoration said.

The new paint job features the twin towers, a bald eagle and the Statue of Liberty.
