Arlington police seek suspect in attempted sex assault, robbery

Arlington police hope a witness sketch will help them find the man whom they say tried to rape a woman, attacked and robbed her.

Officers were called to a home in the 2100 block of Marilyn Lane around 8:45 a.m. on March 27. A suspect with a knife reportedly approached a woman there, asked her for money and forced her inside the home.

He demanded cash from the woman, but when she didn't give him what he deemed to be enough money, he ordered her into a bedroom to get more.

He stole a gold necklace with a heart-shaped pendant from the woman. He tried to sexually assault her and ended up physically assaulting her.

Police describe the suspect as a black man with a light complexion who's about 5-foot-8. He's around 28-30 with a thin build and a goatee hanging about an inch from his chin.

He was seen wearing black Reebok sweatpants, a gray hoodie and tennis shoes.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to contact police at 817-459-5632.

Tipsters can also leave an anonymous tip by calling Crime Stoppers at 817 469-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $1,000 may be available to an eligible tipster using Crime Stoppers.
