One person died Monday after a three-vehicle wreck Arlington police said was caused by a piece of debris left in the middle of the road.
The accident happened just before noon on Monday on westbound I-20 before Cooper Street.
Arlington police said a truck swerved to avoid a pallet in the middle of the road and struck the median. Then, a sedan behind the truck hit the median as well. An 18-wheeler behind them struck the sedan, killing the sedan’s driver.
I-20 was closed for several hours after the wreck as police investigated the crash. It reopened around 3:30 p.m.
The identity of the man killed has not yet been released.
