Amber Alert issued for Hill County children

WHITNEY, TX - An Amber Alert was still active on Monday for two missing children who were taken by their mother.

The alert was issued on Sunday afternoon for 5-year-old Lulamae Ann King and 6-year-old Deondre King. Lulamae Ann King is 3' 5" and 40 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes. Deondre King is 4' 0" and 45 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.

Police said their parents would not turn over custody of the children to Child Protective Services. Their father, Clifford Ray King, was detained at a house in South Dallas on Sunday but was released.

Police believe the children are with their mother, Cristal Taylor.

A car the family was believed to be in was found abandoned in North Oak Cliff. Police believe the mother switched vehicles and was heading north.
