Newly released documents show now-retired Allen High School Principal Steve Payne was being investigated by the district.
In a letter obtained through open records requests, Allen ISD's superintendent said Payne was placed on leave due in part to allegations made regarding his conduct.
The letter doesn’t describe Payne's alleged misconduct but does say he was not cooperative with the investigation.
Payne was placed on paid leave October 1. He submitted a letter of retirement on October 15.
